The illustrations in the books are by Ernest Howard Shepard. The first French translation, <i>Histoire d\u2019un ours comme \u00e7a<\/i>, by Jacques Papy, dates from 1946.<\/p>\n<p>The character of Winnie, an animated teddy bear, was inspired by his son, Christopher, who he saw playing with his stuffed animals. In the same way that children make up stories for themselves, Winnie and her friends have adventures that may seem ridiculous to adults. The universe in which these characters evolve is kind and joyful without being without worries. The original version of Winnie the Pooh (without the red shirt) is in the public domain since <time class=\"nowrap\" datetime=\"2022-01-01\" data-sort-value=\"2022-01-01\">January<abbr class=\"abbr\" title=\"first\"><sup>1,<\/sup><\/abbr> 2022<\/time><sup id=\"cite_ref-1\" class=\"reference\"><\/sup>.<\/p>\n<h2><span id=\"Origines\" class=\"mw-headline\">Origins<\/span><\/h2>\n<p>The name Winnie was chosen by the author in reference to a bear resident at the London Zoo where he used to go with his son. The animal was donated to the zoo by Captain Harry Colebourn, a veterinarian in the Canadian army, during the First World War. Colebourn had tamed the bear and named her Winnipeg after his hometown. He bought it from a trapper in the town of White River, Ontario. It was <strong>not until 1989, after the official death of its creator, that the name Winnie The Pooh or Winnie the Pooh appeared on the screens<sup id=\"cite_ref-2\" class=\"reference\"><\/sup>.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>In <time class=\"nowrap\" datetime=\"2009-10\" data-sort-value=\"2009-10\">October 2009<\/time>, a new edition of Winnie\u2019s adventures was published simultaneously in England and the United States, written by David Benedictus and illustrated by Mark Burgess, with the agreement of the rights holders, which will extend the adventures of the bear and Jean-Christophe, his young owner<sup id=\"cite_ref-3\" class=\"reference\"><\/sup>.<\/p>\n<h3><span id=\"Des_d.C3.A9buts_fran.C3.A7ais_fluctuants\"><\/span><span id=\"Des_d\u00e9buts_fran\u00e7ais_fluctuants\" class=\"mw-headline\">A fluctuating French debut<\/span><\/h3>\n<p>Since its first French versions in children\u2019s literature, the name <i>Winnie the Pooh<\/i> has been subject to various proposals<sup id=\"cite_ref-:0_4-0\" class=\"reference\"><\/sup>, notably due to the difficulty of rendering the onomatopoeic term <i>Pooh<\/i>, the invented definite article <i>\u201cther\u201d<\/i>, or the pronunciation of the feminine name <i>Winnie<\/i>. (and in particular this W that the French speakers of the time tended to Germanize into [v], as in <i>wagon<\/i>. \u201c[\u2026] before being called Winnie, the teddy bear is named <i>the Martin Bear<\/i>\u201c, according to the French tradition\u201d<sup id=\"cite_ref-:0_4-1\" class=\"reference\"><\/sup>. Thus Pierre Martin\u2019s 1962 translation of <i>Plic-en-peluche<\/i><sup id=\"cite_ref-:0_4-2\" class=\"reference\"><\/sup>. In Jacques Papy\u2019s 1946 translation, Winnie was called <i>Winnie-the-Pooh<\/i>. The Gallimard Jeunesse reprints use the name <i>Winnie the Pooh<\/i>.<\/p>\n<h2><span id=\"Caract.C3.A8re\"><\/span><span id=\"Caract\u00e8re\" class=\"mw-headline\">Character<\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Winnie the Pooh is a yellow bear who is often described by the narrator of his adventures as \u201cnot very bright\u201d. In fact, he is not necessarily very intelligent, but has a big heart, and helps his friends. We particularly note his carefree attitude, his joyful humor. He is very close to Little Guru who sees him as the big brother he would like to have.<\/li>\n<li>Porcinet<i>(Piglet<\/i>), he is mainly concerned with making his home cozy and comfortable. He is characterized by great shyness and anxiety.<\/li>\n<li>Coco Lapin<i>(Rabbit<\/i>), always busy growing vegetables in his garden. He also invents machines, organizes expeditions and plans to solve his friends\u2019 problems\u2026 not always with great success.<\/li>\n<li>Master<i>Owl<\/i>, from a huge family of owls who have all had experiences relevant to the problems they face. He represents wisdom but his explanations often seem very complicated to his friends.<\/li>\n<li>Great Guru<i>(Kanga<\/i>), the only female figure. She is a bit of a mother to all of them and sometimes called <i>Mom Guru<\/i>.<\/li>\n<li>Little Guru<i>(Roo<\/i>), son of Big Guru, he just wants to be bigger.<\/li>\n<li>Bourriquet<i>(Eeyore<\/i>), very pragmatic, his main challenge is to have a roof over his head\u2026 and to keep it! Also has a lot of problems with his tail that he often has to re-pin.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>They all live in the<i>Hundred Acre<\/i> <b>Wood<\/b>.<\/p>\n<p>In the adventures imagined by the <a href=\"https:\/\/emissionsdemonenfance.com\/en\/emissions\/programming-blocks-youth-channels\/disney\" target=\"_blank\" title=\"Disney, a global entertainment behemoth, has left an indelible mark on the television landscape through its innovative and captivating productions.
